Cregmore/Claregalway 2 Galway Bohs 1
A gallant Bohs team suffered heartbreak in Cregmore on Saturday when two late goals secured three points for the home team.
Playing against a very strong wind in the first half, the whole Bohs team showed great character and workrate to defend bravely
against a decent Cregmore side that were in the Premier Division last season. Both sides went in 0-0 at the break and it was
Bohs who took a deserved lead early in the second half when Lumiere produced a striker's finish from close range to make
it 1-0 and it stayed like that until the last five minutes. Unfortunately, it was Cregmore who struck twice late on to inflict a
cruel defeat on the Bohs lads who can all hold their heads up high following a valiant performance all over the pitch.
Keeper Max Keville made a few great saves in the first half to keep a clean sheet, Patrick and Jake could not be faulted
with an assured outing at centre half, Dorin and Lee worked their socks off in midfield and never gave up while Rian Coffey
did a fine job holding up the ball and linking well with the Bohs midfield. A disappointing result to come away empty handed
but the coaches could not be prouder of the the lads who produced a real battling squad effort over the course of the
70 minutes and fair play to both sides for playing some lovely football at times in such difficult conditions ⚽🔴⚪⚽
