Bohemians U12s produced a strong, hard-fought performance on a cold morning in Millers Lane to record a deserved 5–1 victory over Athenry C.
Bohs started brightly and went into the break 2–0 up, with goals from Mark Thornton and Bryan Burke after a competitive first half where both sides battled well in the tough conditions.
The second half saw Bohs really take control. Birthday boy Andrew Gallagher added a third to spark celebrations, before Mark Thornton struck twice more to complete a fine hat-trick, putting the game beyond doubt.
Athenry kept pushing and were rewarded with a deserved late consolation goal, but it was Bohemians who finished strongest to seal an excellent team win.
